When you purchase a condo you are purchasing title to one unit within a multi-unit complex and you share ownership of common areas and land with other owners. A condominium is a type of ownership and does NOT describe a type of building. Examples of condominium ownership include townhomes, attached houses, lofts, 4-plexes, duplexes, high rise apartment buildings, low rise apartment buildings, etc.
